Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, the world’s largest supplier of automotive interior components, announced establishing a new manufacturing facility in Belvidere, Ill., to support FCA US LLC. The new plant will be built with a new capital investment of $28.1 million to produce cockpit components. Expected to be opening in 2017, the new plant is likely to create 400 new jobs. The company will supply interior cockpit components to the requirements of the Jeep® Cherokee, which will be built at the FCA US Belvidere assembly plant.

The company was established in 2015 and has its headquarters in Shanghai. With more than 100 manufacturing and technical centers it operates in 17 countries with over 29,000 people globally. The company supplies instrument panels and cockpit systems, door panels, floor consoles and overhead consoles. The company has been formulated as a joint venture and has the benefit of the expertise of its partners.
