Prime Polymer Co., Ltd. recently launched the complete production startup of Evolue™, its metallocene-based polymer, at its Singapore subsidiary plant. The subsidiary is dubbed Prime Evolue Singapore Pte.Ltd., which is a JV of Prime Polymer and Mitsui & Co., Ltd., both of which hold 80% and 20% share, respectively.
Prime Polymer Co., Ltd. itself is a JV of Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (holding 65% share) and Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (which holds 35% share).
Along with features such as low fish-eye and low odor, Evolue™ is known for its airtightness, heat sealability, and notable strength. It is expected that this performance-driven sealant material will see an increasing demand for itself in Asia. The material is used for liquid and powder packaging applications.
Another Evolue™ plant is located at the Ichihara Works. Thus, it is expected that the new plant, which has a production capacity of 300,000 tons/annum, together with the existing plant will help the Prime Polymer Group to touch an annual production capacity of 550,000 tons.
The production growth will also help the Group strengthen its position of a leading provider in Asia, and even in Japan. The company will help to develop the full-scale regional production efforts of chemical industry of Singapore.
