Oxxo, based in Kouba (Algeria), has recently taken 19 lines in operation 23 twin screw extruder from KraussMaffeiBerstorfffor the production of window profiles in Bordj Bou Arreridj near Algiers. In addition, the company has obtained four co-extrusion combinations producing window profiles with the low-cost core material.
Oxxo is the new subsidiary created in 2013 following the acquisition of OXXO France by Cevital Group. Its headquarters are in Algiers.
Happy with the Oxxo as a new client, Peter Oswald, head of product management at KraussMaffei Berstorff said “We are very proud to include these newcomers in the window profile extrusion to our clientele. The order shows to what extent Oxxo intends to position itself in the market. With window profile extrusion to Cevital creates an additional pillar to the already established product flat glass of the daughter Mediterranean Float Glass (MFG). The KraussMaffei Berstorff twin-screw extruder of proven 32D, as well as the now well established on the market conical models, are used in the new plant near Algiers both for window profile as well as for the roller blind rod production”.
In order to strengthen the market position and gain competitive advantages, Oxxo arranged a comprehensive training program for the machine operators to make them intensively acquainted with the functionality and technology of the machinery. “Our staff have received a very good basic knowledge, which allows them to operate in accordance with the systems according to agronomic criteria today. More procedural training is planned for the necessary technological know-how to produce lasting competitive products”, said Hocine Medjahad, Director Supply Chain of Oxxo.
