The KraussMaffei Group, the world’s leading suppliers of machinery and systems for producing and processing plastics and rubber, is moving forward to expand its portfolio and digital offering with the acquisition of a part of stake in the German second-hand machinery start-up Gindumac GmbH.
KraussMaffei adds to its potential to win new customers with the help of the latest investment and get access to the second-hand machinery market with digital sales solutions.
This will also benefit the existing customers through a new “Old for New” concept. With the investment, it will also be able to fully map the life-cycle used plastics processing machinery. KraussMaffei will operate a rental model for second-hand machinery and expand its offerings to its customers.
Gindumac, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Germany, is in the trade of second-hand metal- and plastics processing machinery covering the global reach. The start-up ‘Gindumac’ has offices in Germany, Spain, and India. The company operates a vast network of second-hand machinery specialists worldwide. KraussMaffei’s customers will have a fair market price for their used machine with the guaranteed support from Gindumac, who with its intelligent data algorithm will be able to evaluate the current market value of any machine within less than 48 hours.
Dr. Frank Stieler, CEO of the KraussMaffei Group, said, “The investment fits very well into our concept of marketing second-hand machinery internationally. We are not only expanding our portfolio but are also strengthening our digital platform-based offering and are establishing the right prerequisites for further growth.”
