Klöckner Pentaplast announces $25m Investment in Capacity Expansion in North America

The Klöckner Pentaplast Group is a global leader in rigid and flexible packaging, printing and specialty solutions. Klöckner Pentaplast’s Pharma & Medical Device Division (kp PMD) has decided to add to its global production capacity in North America, investing more than $25 million.

Tracey Peacock, President kp PMD, said, “Our significant expansion plans reflect our dedication to servicing customers’ needs now, and in the future. The additional coating and laminating capability suitable for the production of Pentapharm® and Pentamed® packaging films will service the North American pharmaceutical and medical device industry. We are excited to support the growing high barrier product segments by investing in best in class coating and laminating capabilities, enabling new performance levels in barrier protection.”

kp PMD,s investment of more than $25 million in technology and processes to deliver innovative, functional and safe products for customers. The current investment in North America is in continuation of earlier investments made by the company is in continuation to the earlier investments by kp this year, highlighting their capacity expansions in Switzerland and Brazil. The new capacity in North America is expected to be in operation by 2020.

The company is showcasing its products at the  Healthcare Packaging Expo (part of PackExpo) from 14-17th October 2018 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Klöckner Pentaplast Group serves the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, beverage and card markets, amongst others. Klöckner Pentaplast with operations in 18 countries serves its customers worldwide from 61 locations, including 32 production sites.
