Kautex Maschinenbau, the manufacturer of extrusion blow molding machines, arranged a tour of the recently opened new assembly hall at its Bonn HQ to the visitors.
The Open House Event was hosted on March 14 & 15, 2018 with the presentation of a wide variety of machines, application examples, and new services.170 visitors from 28 countries took the round of the assembly hall.
The highlight of the event included extensive presentations with internal and external speakers, covering topical issues such as energy efficiency and the “Industry 4.0” smart factory trend, as well as views on automation and service.
Keeping the interests of visitors in mind, the presentations were divided into two parts. The first day was focused on solutions for the packaging industry while the second day focused on the automotive segment and special applications.
One of the major highlights of the event was the display of 31 demo machines, which attracted the attention of the visitors. Live demonstration of some of the machines was given to the visitors. The mold trials of E-PET bottles were shown in the process with the help of a packaging machine in the technical center.
Visitors also had an opportunity to see, very closely, two virtual machines for training purposes. At the end of the event, a presentation of various retrofitting/modernization options was organized including a demonstration of a test version for future services based on a current augmented reality application using smart glasses.
Andreas Lichtenauer, managing partner, showing the new assembly hall for KBB and KSB machines, said, “We are continually striving to reduce lead times for our customers. This expansion of our Bonn location should improve our future capacity for on-time delivery.”
