Ineos Styrolution, the global leader in styrenics, plans for a major investment to build a new 50000 tonnes per year ABS production line in its site at Wingles, France, to meet the growing market demand for ABS in Europe. Ineos Styrolution’s production site at Wingles has three polystyrene production lines. One of the three lines will be converted into a production line for ABS with a planned capacity of about 50,000 tonnes per year, which is scheduled to be in operation in Q1’2020. The site at Wingles has so far focused on the production of polystyrene but now the focus has changed to the production of ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene).

“Three ABS production sites in Europe – Wingles, Antwerp and Cologne – with an increased ABS production capacity give us increased flexibility and allow us to grow with our customers. Our customers can focus on their businesses while relying on our production capacities being able to meet their growing demand across our broad ABS portfolio”, said, Rob Buntinx, President EMEA.
Kevin McQuade, CEO at Ineos Styrolution, said, “These plans are at the heart of our focus on higher-value specialties and ABS Standard grades and prove our commitment to our customers and to our long-term growth strategy as outlined in our Triple Shift Strategy.”
