HAECO unveils its innovative Eclipse Cabin for airlines

HAECO Cabin SolutionsHAECO Cabin Solutions is a division of HAECO Americas headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. It has a business unit under the HAECO Group which unveiled its Eclipse Cabin at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany held on 2 April 2019. HAECO Cabin Solutions also showcased its latest Eclipse seat during the event. The launch customer which is likely to be a Middle-East-based airline will resume flying with the seats in the year 2020.

The Eclipse Cabin transforms travel in short-haul business class and long-haul premium economy by making use of an innovative layout and designing. This betters the overall passenger experience by enhancing comfort and privacy while maximizing passenger places (PAX) for airlines. Moreover, the Eclipse Cabin also eases flying by offering more of stowage space for amenities and crew baggage, freeing overhead bin space.

Doug Rasmussen, President and Group Director of HAECO Cabin Solutions, expressed: “We saw an opportunity to develop a premium product for an emerging new class between premium economy and business class seating that would be appreciated both by passengers and airlines. We harnessed our decades of experience in providing premium seating products and services to take a holistic approach to creating a new standard. The unique advantages of the Eclipse seat, together with the integrated cabin, can create up to a 14% increase in PAX within the same cabin space.”

Customer deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2020 post the Eclipse Cabin achieves FAA Technical Standard Order (TSO) certification. Talks with air framers have been in process for making the Eclipse Cabin linefit-offerable. The Eclipse Cabin has also achieved technical viability with Boeing and configurations for the Boeing 737 and 787 are readily available.

The Eclipse Cabin also displayed at the HAECO Americas booth in the Aircraft Interiors Expo held at Hamburg, Germany.
