World-leading supplier of color and additive solutions for polymeric products, Americhem Europe Ltd.,is planning to revamp the workflow for its Manchester,United Kingdom’s manufacturing plant. The latest step shows an investment in the customers of the firm as well as the industry. The restoration will provide a slender, first-class workflow to the plant, which will boost both product quality and productivity.
EMEA’s vice president and managing director, Thomas Weigl, said, “The work at our plant is a result of a desire to serve our customers and to position ourselves for growth in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. These renovations will allow us to better control efficiency from product concept through manufacturing to end product quality control. We want customers to visit in the fall to see the difference for themselves.”
The renovation is expected to complete in September 2016. The latest step is part of the constant enhancement philosophy of the company, which goes till enhancements in strategy and inventory management. The restoration will bring a 100% rise in production capacity. Thus, it will allow for more expansion in future. A new production line will be introduced, and the rest of the production tools of the company will be totally reconstructed to ensure the best quality products for the customers of Americhem.
Weigl added, “As part of the global Americhem network that works with OEMs to achieve global in-vehicle colour harmony, we help assure that colours will be consistent no matter where in the world those automobiles are manufactured.”
Further, the labs of the Manchester site are being extended. These are being equipped with an advanced lab-scale polymeric film line. The lab has some other production pilot lines such as extrusion, fiber spinning, injection molding, and blow molding.
EMEA’s Dr. Craig MacDougall, director of operations, affirmed, “We’re confident that this will better enable our company to provide outstanding products and services to our automotive customers, as well as customers in other industries.”
Vi-Chem Corporation acquisition has lately reinforced the automotive business of Americhem. Vi-Chem is known as PVC and thermoplastic elastomers’ (TPEs)specialty compounder. A number of these turn into soft-touch components on vehicles’interior and exterior. The procurement was made 18 March 2016.
The Automotive Interiors Expo to go on 31 May— 2 June at Stuttgart, Germany’s Messe Stuttgart will see Americhem. The Hall 3, Stand A5132 will have the technical and commercial team of the company, which will answer various questions, and discuss Manchester plant renovations along with product developments.
